Five people. Near you. On purpose.

Naybor exists because making friends as an adult got hard, and nobody built anything honest to fix it.

Moving to a new Indian city has never been easier. Making friends once you get there has never been harder. You arrive for a job or a course, you find a flat, and six months later your entire social life is four colleagues and a delivery app.

Meanwhile there are three hundred people living within a five-minute walk of your door, and you have never had a single reason to say hello to any of them.

What we are building

Naybor puts you in a squad of five people who live near you. Not a feed, not a swipe deck, not a thousand acquaintances – five specific people, in one group that stays put. You get a group chat, a voice room you can drop into, and a gentle nudge towards actually meeting.

The bet is simple, and it is the finding of about fifty years of friendship research: real friendship needs low-stakes repeated exposure to the same small group, real-time voice rather than text, and eventually meeting in person.

What we are deliberately not building

  • Not a dating app. No swipe, no compatibility percentage, no hearts. You tell us your intent at signup, and we filter dating-intent users away from friendship squads.
  • Not a leaderboard. No public profile score, no follower count, no "most popular" mechanic. Every bit of progress in Naybor is private to you or to your squad.
  • Not a network. We are not trying to connect you to everyone. We are trying to connect you to five people you might actually see on a Sunday.

How we measure ourselves

One number: the share of squads that produce at least one real, in-person meetup within thirty days of forming. Not downloads, not daily actives, not minutes in app. If people are not actually meeting, we have built a chat app and failed.

Why we open one street at a time

A friendship app with no one nearby is worse than useless. So Naybor stays switched off in your area until enough neighbours have joined to form real squads – which is what the counter on the home page is measuring. It is slower. It is the only way this works.
