Questions neighbours ask
If yours is not here, write to us at crew@naybor.club.
The basics
Is it free?
Yes, free at launch. No paywall on matching, squads, voice, or the map.
When does it launch?
When the first neighbourhood fills up. We open one area at a time, and we will not switch a zone on until there are enough people nearby to form real squads. Join the list and we will write to you the day yours opens.
Which cities?
Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai to begin with – by neighbourhood, not city-wide. If your area is not listed, pick “My area isn't open yet” and we will start counting.
Is this a dating app?
No. No swiping, no compatibility scores, no hearts. You state your intent when you sign up, and we filter dating-intent users away from friendship squads.
How squads work
How are the five of us chosen?
Proximity first, then a light overlap in interests, with a small boost if you are both verified. It is a soft match, not a compatibility score. The point is five people close enough to actually meet.
Can I choose my squad?
No, and that is deliberate. Choosing recreates the same problem – you pick people like the ones you already know. Random-within-proximity is how you meet someone you would never have found.
What if I do not like my squad?
Leave, any time. One person leaving just backfills the seat for everyone else; it never breaks the group. There is a 24-hour cooldown before your next match so re-matching stays deliberate.
Does anyone find out why I left?
No. Leaving is silent. No reason is ever shown to the group.
Can I be in more than one squad?
One local squad at a time. The whole idea is depth with a few people rather than breadth with many.
Safety and privacy
Can people see where I live?
No. Squad-mates see a soft circle around your area, never a pin and never an address. Map visibility is opt-in and expires on its own, and ghost mode is one tap.
Do I have to verify my identity?
Phone or email verification, yes. Selfie verification is optional – it earns a badge and improves matching priority, but you can use Naybor without it.
What if someone behaves badly?
Report them. It is silent – they are never told who reported them, and your squad is never told a report exists. Every report reaches a human. See Safety.
Do I have to meet people in person?
No. The nudge is always there, never a requirement. Plenty of squads stay entirely digital.
Is there a minimum age?
18. It is a hard gate, because unsupervised in-person meetups are central to how Naybor works.
The waitlist
What happens after I join?
Nothing, until your area fills. One email when it opens. We will not send you a newsletter.
Can I get in sooner?
Yes – bring neighbours. Three people who join with your invite link and your squad can form before the area hits its full count.
What if my area never fills up?
We will tell you honestly rather than leave you on a dead list, and point you at the invite mechanic.
How do I get off the list?
Email care@naybor.club and you are gone within seven days. See our Privacy Policy.
