Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website today and is written to grow into the app.

Last updated 9 September 2026

Naybor has not launched. Right now this website does two things with data: it takes your email and chosen area so we can tell you when your neighbourhood opens, and – if you arrived from one of our ads – it counts whether that click led to a signup. Nothing else. Sections marked “when the app launches” describe what is coming, so nothing surprises you later.

1. What information we collect

Information you give us

  • Waitlist details – your email address, the neighbourhood you pick from our list, and an invite code if someone referred you.
  • When the app launches – your phone number or email, first name, photo, interest tags, one prompt answer, and your stated intent (friendship, new to town, and so on).

Information we collect automatically

  • Technical data – IP address, browser type and timestamps, logged by our hosting provider to keep the site running and prevent abuse.
  • Which city a visit came from. When a page opens, our edge network turns the connection into a country and nearest city, and we add one to a running count for that city and that day – “Bengaluru, 47”. That is the whole record. Your IP address is never sent to us or stored by us, the count is not linked to you, your visit, your email or anything you typed, and it cannot be turned back into a person. We use it to see roughly which cities our visitors are in, so we know where to open next. It is approximate – mobile networks often place a phone in the wrong metro entirely.
  • When the app launches: approximate location. Your device's precise coordinates are converted to a coarse zone a few hundred metres across, and the precise values are discarded. We never store your exact location.
  • When the app launches: activity – messages you send in your squad, when you join voice sessions, and reports you make or receive.

What we deliberately do not collect

Precise GPS history, your contact lists, or anything bought from data brokers. This website reads nothing from your device beyond what your browser sends every website.

One thing we do collect: if you reach us from one of our search or social ads, the ad platform (Google or Meta) sets a cookie so we can measure whether that click ended in a signup. That is the only advertising identifier on the site, and we use it only for that measurement – see section 2.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the service – email you when your area opens; later, to match you into a squad of five using your zone, interests and verification status.
  • To keep people safe – review reports, detect harassment and scam patterns, and enforce our Community Guidelines.
  • To run and improve Naybor – fix bugs, measure which areas are filling, keep the service secure.
  • To comply with law – including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, under which we are the Data Fiduciary for your information.

We run search and social ads to reach people, and use the ad platforms’ conversion tracking to measure them. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to target ads at you elsewhere.

Concretely: Google and Meta receive that a visit came from one of our ads and whether it ended in a signup. They bill us on that basis and may use it to improve who sees our ads. We never send them your email address or anything you tell us; we do not run their remarketing or interest-profiling features on the general web.

3. How we share information

Only in these situations:

  • Service providers working under contract for us – our hosting and database provider, our email service, and, once the app launches, our voice and verification providers. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
  • Ad platforms – Google and Meta, but only when you arrive from one of our ads: they learn that the visit came from that ad and whether it led to a signup. Not your email, not your area, nothing you type.
  • Other users – when the app launches, your squad sees your first name, photo, interests and an approximate radius. Never your address, contact details or exact position.
  • Legal requests – where a court or an authorised authority lawfully requires it. We disclose the minimum the request compels.
  • Safety emergencies – where we believe in good faith it is necessary to prevent imminent harm to someone.

Note: our typefaces currently load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We plan to host them ourselves.

4. How long we keep information

  • Waitlist details – until your area opens, then 12 months; or deleted immediately when you ask.
  • Account data (after launch) – while your account is open, erased within 30 days of deletion, except records the law requires us to keep.
  • Safety records – reports and enforcement decisions are kept up to 3 years, so a person banned for serious harm cannot simply rejoin.
  • Technical logs – around 90 days.

5. How we protect information

The site runs over HTTPS; data is encrypted in transit and at rest; access is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure – if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

6. Where information is processed

Primarily on servers in India. Some providers operate in other countries, including the United States; those transfers are covered by contractual safeguards.

7. Your rights and choices

Under the DPDP Act you can:

  • Access a summary of the information we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
  • Erase your information and leave the list or, later, delete your account
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you cannot
  • Complain – to us first, and to the Data Protection Board of India if we fail you

To use any of these, email care@naybor.club from the address you signed up with, with “Privacy request” in the subject. We respond within 30 days, and to complaints within 15 days.

8. Delete your data

App: Naybor  ·  Developer: Naybor Club, Bengaluru, India. This section is the official place to request deletion of your Naybor account and data – you do not need the app installed to use it.

Fill this in and press the button – it opens an email to us with everything we need. We confirm within 3 working days and complete deletion within 30 days.

This opens your email app with the request pre-filled – nothing is sent until you press send there.

No email app on this device? Write to care@naybor.club with the subject DELETE ACCOUNT and the email or phone number you signed up with.

Deletion removes everything tied to your account – profile, photo, interests, messages, zone, verification result, and your waitlist signup. What little survives, and for how long, is exactly what section 4 above says: ban records up to 3 years, routine logs up to 90 days, and anything under a legal hold. You can also request partial deletion – specific data without closing the account. We verify requests by replying to the address or number on the account, and we will never ask for your password or any government ID.

9. Young people

Naybor is for people 18 and over. Under the DPDP Act anyone under 18 is a child and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, email care@naybor.club and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

Before the app launches we will expand this policy and tell you. The date at the top always shows the version you are reading.

11. How to contact us

care@naybor.club – put PRIVACY in the subject line so it reaches the right person quickly.

Data Fiduciary: Naybor Club, Bengaluru – 560102, Karnataka, India.
